Rab the painter
Robert (Rab) McMurray was born in City of Belfast, Northern Ireland, in November 1953.
He was educated at Charters Memorial Primary School, Argyle Primary School and Ballygomartin Secondary School all in the North Belfast Area.
It was whilst he was at these fine educational establishments, he first developed his interest in art and as a child his love of painting and drawing progressed through his formative years.
At the age of 15 years Robert (or Rab as he likes to be known) left school and joined the work force, he later married and raised a family of three.
However it would be many years before he was actually able to take up the challenge were he left off, so with the kind encouragement of his family, he has rekindled his love of drawing and painting, whilst developing his skills. He is a seasoned world traveller and has at every opportunity painted at each of his destinations, becoming a most prolific watercolour artist.
Rab McMurray now lives with his wife, in the beautiful County Down town of Bangor. Northern Ireland.
